The Shaman Project II

This project intends to fuse art and music with nature and the animal

world.

By and large, throughout art history, the treatment of animals has not

reflected the best aspects in the relationship between man and animal.

Our intention is to change the way art has utilised animals only for their

beauty or bestiality, without thinking about the special relationship and

means of comunciation between species and without respect for our

own animal essence. With this in mind, the Shaman Project intends to

remove the mask and establish this communication with the animal

world through the art and music of the contributors.

Following a successful exhibition in Salamanca, this is the second stage

ofthe Shaman Project and we wish to express out thanks and gratitude

to the I<ukut2a gaztetxea 3 in Bilbao for allowing us to use this space.

Elinor Evans has dedicated some of her paintings to the Basque country

with the sincere hope that true communication will rid society of the

hypocrisy that transforms reality to its own capricegthat this truce will

lead to a solution and that peace will come to the Basque country. l-ler

paintings pay homage to all those who have suffered in this conflict.

With this reality in mind, we intend to raise the awareness of the

viewers at this exhibition. We hope to encourage them to remove the

mask and to be conscious of the hypocrisy around them.

We do not want animals to be used in a capricious way. What we want

is to create a bond of union and friendship; a relationship between

artists, musicians, performers, animals and nature.
